White Night
Hey- it's been awhile since I clapped eyes on you, what have you been up to?
If you're staying in town then we can stay awake from midnight 'til high noon
Always with your heart in hand
Feeling your way in the dark
Never bought it when you said you had a plan
I even miss the times that I forget, but maybe that was the idea
Coming up and falling down- it seems to all make sense now that you're here
Life is just a game but
You still like it when you score
Never bought it when you said that less is more
It's good to see you again
It's been way to long my friend
Well you look as good as new
And now the night is shining through
Reflecting off the sky
The whole city's floating by
Throw your caution to the wind
Those days are gone for good my friend
Trying to take the subterraneans seriously when they gave their sermons
Going as the crow flies at night, straight until morning was always fun
Winding down the alleyways
The windows shining out
Always bought what all the fuss was about
It's good to see you again
It's been way too long my friend
Well you look as good as new
Now the night is shining through
Reflecting off the sky
The whole city's floating by
Throw your caution to the wind
Those days are gone for good my friend

Rose Latulipe Dances with the Devil
A Wednesday wrapped in snow
The night fell down like ashes
The winter lights, they took my breath away
The music's call rose and fell
The thunder of the horses hooves
Came through the walls and entered in
You appeared, and you took my breath away
They said "It's wrong", while you led me on
It was like dancing
Above the storm
Dancing
My heart is gone
But then your mask fell off
The pointing fingers, a cloven hoof
You broke free and you crashed into the night
The shards of glass fell down like ash
It was like dancing
Above the storm
Dancing
My heart is gone
When I look in your eyes my blood burns cold
It feels just like the melting snow
You touch me and nothing is the same
I feel like ashes blowing away
I feel like ashes blowing away...

On A Train

On a Train
I get on the train, I see those familiar faces that I know so well
There’s the one who’d angry at the delay
There’s the one who sleeps all day
My neighbour spends his time talking to his cell
While I’m just lost for words
What can I say to you that isn’t what you’ve heard before?
Here I am, the guy who laughed and threw those old love letters away
I search my mind for those words,
Locked inside this crowded space
Why can’t this train take a shorter path
Burst out of its tracks?
And if we’re forced to stop
I’ll just get off this train and walk
All I see is my reflection when I look out the window
For the lights that means the station’s round the bend
And this waiting’s at an end
Here I am the guy who laughed at all the tricks that love will play
I got taken in
Can’t wait to be taken in again
Why can’t this train take a shorter path
Burst out of its tracks?
And if we’re forced to stop
I’ll just get off this train and walk
I’m not waiting around here anymore
I don’t need this, I just need to be where you are
I see your place, it’s not too far
Can’t wait to be where you are

Blank Screen
I swallowed my pride
But it didn’t agree with me
I got a thorn in my side
Guess I’ll have to let it be
He said, why don’t you change your name
While leaving all the rest the same?
Erase the story that might have been
Let me be
Oh, a blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
A blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
Write on me
I bit my tongue
But it got away from me
Gonna be struck dumb
Guess I’ll have to wait and see
He said, just give your voice a rest
I could give a go at talking less
Erase the story that might have been
Let me be
Oh, a blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
A blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
Write on me
A blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
Write on me
A blank screen
Waiting for you to write on me
Write on me
